Believe it or not I do try and come up with menu items that fit dietary restrictions. While I am not a vegetarian, I do love vegetables, but was craving something different this time. Our A Proper Cheese Toast is vegetarian, but I guess it lacks vegetables. We start with our light sourdough sandwich bread, the one that we used to used for those amazing grilled cheese sandwiches. We give the bread a good toasting with a light herb and garlic oil. Then we spread a seasoned cream cheese spread on top, dress it with three different cheeses, smoked cheddar, swiss, and feta. In the mix we add some chopped scallions and jalepenos so I guess it does have vegetables! Then a second toasting to get it all bubbly and melted together. Finally, we’ll toast it again if you want to enjoy it in the shop, otherwise make sure you warm it up when you get home or wherever it is that you go.
