I don’t think cream cheese danish were what made me want to be a pastry chef, but it was certainly my favorite treat from the bakery when I was a kid. Classic flaky danish dough is filled with tangy and creamy cream cheese filling. After baking it gets a gentle apricot glaze, buttery sweet crumbs, and just a touch of icing. Delicious at any time of the day, but I enjoy it most with my coffee.
