**We will be preparing Galettes in limited quantities Jan 5 – Jan 31, it is recommended you place your order at least 24 hours in advance to ensure availability**
Galette des Rois, or King’s cake is traditionally eaten on January 6 to celebrate the Epiphany. We thought we would stray from tradition and make a Queen’s Cake too! This version features our tender flaky puff pastry filled with baklava inspired frangipane cream and raspberry rose jam. Finally, a touch of rose fondant and rose petals. We’ll be making them January 5th through January 31st. We’ll have a small supply in shop each day so your best bet is to place an order in advance. Each cake comes with a crown and a porcelain trinket, “feve,” the one who finds the feve is queen for the day. It’s a tasty tradition whether you call it the Feast of Epiphany, Feast of Theophany, or Three King’s Day. If you’re still looking for a reason to celebrate, it’s also my dog Retsi’s birthday, just sayin’.
