I once joked that I was going to open a second bakery called, “$hit you saw on Instagram last week!” I’m sure it would be more successful than this bakery, but alas I am not too into trends and usually run in the opposite direction from them. However, there is one item I would often see and had to try, Korean cream cheese garlic buns. We made them last year and they were well liked. I wanted to try them made with croissants instead of brioche and I have to say I like them better, but you can be the judge. So we take a croissant and split it down the middle. We brush the croissant with a sweetened garlic parsley custard and then pipe in cream cheese. The croissant is topped with more custard and baked again. It’s kind of like an individual little savory bread pudding. It’s also kind of ridiculously good.
