I am a firm believer that no matter how crazy things are in the world, it is still important to share moments with the ones we love. For me, I like to do that with desserts, maybe with coffee, maybe at a park, maybe after a family dinner, but shared with the ones I love and that mean so much to me. Strawberries have always been one my favorites, from strawberry ice cream as a kid, to picking strawberries with my grandfather and then with my own children, so many memories based around such a special fruit that is at its best for just a short time of year. Our OG strawberry shortcake is based on the classic French Fraisier cake. Two pieces of almond butter cake ( I call it twinkie sponge cake), plenty of fresh strawberries, and rich vanilla cream.
