One of my favorite desserts is pecan pie, then I found out that the way we make our salted browned butter pecan pie filling tastes great with just about anything baked inside of it. So this time we’re taking that delicious magical custard and baking it in our traditional almond shortbread crusts with sour cherries and pistachios. It is a classic combination and the sour cherries cut the sweetness often associated with pecan pie. We top of the tart with a little milk chocolate chantilly, chocolate crunchy things, and a luxardo cherry, they’re the best. Have one with your bourbon or scotch and you’ll feel real fancy.
