Bread with chocolate! My first pain au chocolat was from Dean & DeLuca in NYC when I was visiting the school I would eventually start my pastry career at. I still can see the face of the girl behind the counter when I butchered the pronunciation. Times have changed, but I still love a traditional pain au chocolat. Ours are made with Valrhona chocolate batons which make all the difference!
